Hi there! Okay so I've been a serious lurker here for sometime now. I'm just seeking some placement/font/pain advice.
I'm planning on getting a quote from Romeo & Juliet that I've wanted ever since college. I got my first tattoo a few months back
and think I'm ready to get my next...

My question is:

What are the symptoms of ovulation?
The past few months when ovulating I started getting shooting pains in my ovaries whenever I walked, they werent too bad.  But each month the pain seems to be getting worse, and turns to a dull ache lasting hours. It almost feels as though the bottom of my abdomen is "full" and whenever I walk or move something seems to be prodding it.

Also this month I've been urinating alot more and yesterday I noticed some red blood in my underwear the size of a little sequin, then about an hour later I went to the toilet and noticed some red stringy stuff in the toilet bowl which seemed to be in my urine.  It only happened once.  But then today when I wiped I had brown stringy stuff on the toilet paper but it wasnt in the toilet bowl.  The pain has also been intense.

Also last month, my ovary was slightly swollen and tender and its been a bit painful having intercourse during my mid cycle.

Is this common for ovulating? I've never experienced mid cycle bleeding before (its 10 days after my period) so I'm not sure whether I should be concerned or not.

Just wanted to let everyone know, that a new version of MemcacheD has been released. We will be rolling this out to the memcache nodes during the week of July 20th to 24th. This should have very little impact on the stability of the website; however users may see a slight increase in load times as the cache is re-populated with entries.

The software has been tested and verified to be working just fine with the application; so we perceive this to be a very minimal risk in regards to updating, and the stability of the website.

Thanks...

i want to get the following tattoed:

" in the very temple of Delight
veiled melancholy has her sovran shrine"

it's from keats ode on melancholy and it's not only one of my favorite poems but it's also applies to me quite a lot.

my only current issue is that i have NO IDEA where to place it. i would like wrists but i have both of mine tattoed already.

does anyone have any placement suggestions? or two lines tattoos you could show me?

i would prefer if it was not visible because i currently teach at a nazi/communist (not literally of course) school.

thanks :)

Hi everyone....
Long time lurker dont really have any literary tattoo's as yet.

Just wondering on a font of a tattoo that was posted in here.
The girl with the white inked "Mischief Managed" tattoo.

I'm doing up a Harry Potter themed flyer for my friends birthday party and it was a great looking font.

Thanks! :)

WARNING -- THIS IS TEXT ONLY!

well, howdy! i've posted here a few times before and shared two of my tattoos and i believe it's time for fourth. for a long while now, i've been wanting to do a lord of the rings quarter sleeve but haven't been able to focus my ideas into something. however, i think i've got it.

i either want to do an entirely rohirrim piece with the horses, quotes, people, etc or the fellowship. the trouble is that i haven't been having much luck with finding the pictures.

so, basically, i guess i'm asking to be spammed with many many pictures, sites, or really just thoughts.

thank you so much! this community has been so positive and supportive before and i always come here first for questions that i know you guys would be able to handle.

EDIT:
sorry, as it was pointed out to me, i wasn't quite clear. i do know what i want. for the rohirrim, i would want words from either theoden's speech before his last battle or part of eomer's poem when he believes that eowyn is dead. as for pictures: banners, the horses, the characters, and oter such things of that nature.

(i can only hope this is making sense!)

These double as the literary tattoo I've always wanted and a reference to the Amanda Palmer song of the same name. I got them about a month ago.

hi everyone!
I graduated a little over four years ago with my BSW and have been working in CPS in Vermont ever since. for the most part, i love my job, but right now things are really bad in my office and i think i am ready for a change.
I'd really love to move to Philadelphia, but i'm not sure if i could handle CPS work there for long. has anyone worked in Philly in CPS? I have tried to get a hold of an application but the "hotline" never seems to send me the application packet they say they will. I wasn't sure if any one could give me a good site recommendation to look for social work jobs. i'm really interested in doing forensic interviewing at a CAC or some kind of child advocacy work, but again i can't find a good website to look for jobs, i have just been combing google and it's tedious and not helpful.
socialworkers.org is down, and i thought the national CAC website might have something but they don't seem to. any thoughts?

Also, since i've been working at my "cushy" government job for so long, i'm bracing for what could be a big pay cut. i live on my own so a 25% cut is REALLY 25%. anyone have any advice? i think my sanity is more important than the almighty dollar but being totally broke might drive me crazy too!

It has been about two weeks since I came of my period, and yesterday I noticed some spotting.
I didn't think much of it since it was so light and I've heard that sometimes cervical fluid can be slightly brown, which is how it was yesterday.
Well, this morning I woke up and it was a little bit heavier, and bright red.
I freaked and told my mom about it, and she said that this has happened to her several times before and it's nothing to worry about.
So I tried to chill out and take a shower but when I ran the water over my scalp to rinse the shampoo, I got extremely dizzy, my ears started ringing and I couldn't see.... so I did my best to get myself rinsed off and as soon as I could I got out of the shower and told mom what had just happened. She said it was a common symptom of whatever this thing is.
So I tried to go through the day like normal... but then I noticed some clotting just now, and it's black and about an inch or two long.
I told her about this, and once again she said I have nothing to worry about- it's all part of the process.
She then told me that it has something to do with it being a progesterone deficiency.
Does anybody else know anything about this? I'm trying not to be scared....

And also, on another note- I've been kinda constipated lately.
I never really had a problem with it until about two years ago now I really have to watch what I eat...
And right now I don't feel bloated or anything but my hamstrings tighten up like crazy when it's like this.... I don't get much exercise so that could be part of the issue....

Does anyone have any The Lovely Bones tattoos? Or quotes from Sarah Dessen books? I'd love some ideas. I already have a list of ones that I want to think about for awhile.

- book quotes
.. nothing is ever certain - the lovely bones
.. He wore his innocence like a comfortable old coat - the lovely bones
.. one word can change the whole world - this lullaby
.. don't think or judge, just listen - just listen
.. There is never a time or place for true love. It happens accidentally, in a heartbeat, in a single flashing, throbbing moment. - the truth about forever
.. Life is an awful, ugly place to not have a best friend. - someone like you
.. There has to be a middle. Without it, nothing can ever truly be whole. Because it is not just the space between, but also what holds everything together - just listen

I just have no idea which one means the most to me, or where I'd place them! I also have a lot of lyric tattoo ideas, but I figured I'd spare you. If you want to see, just ask!

I found this site while researching fonts for my tribute to my late g-ma. I didn't know that literary tattoos were this was popular until I found this site! I think that it's great!
Anyway, I am a distant relative of John Updike (on the same side as my g-ma), and when she passed, this poem comforted me.
Perfection Wasted
I plan to get a line or two from this poem added to a tattoo I have on my neck just above the my shoulder blades. The existing tattoo is a tribal celtic knot but also has stylized fleur-de-lis designs on the four outer loops (a symbol that has meaning btw my g-ma and me) and seperate lines/curly cues that originate around the knot then extend over my shoulder blades (sorry no pic, can't get a good one). The text would go under it. I have an idea of which lines, but what would you all pick?
Thanks!

So...I've had this issue for about 2 months now.  I initially had a low-grade fever and body aches (sort of flu like) with abominal pain and swelling mostly around my belly button toward the right side around 2 months ago.  I finally ended up at the ER where all the tests were pretty much inconclusive.  They did blood, urine, pelvic, and CT scan.  There was a minor amount of bacteria in my urine so they pretty much gave me cipro and pain meds and sent me on my way.  I followed up with my pcp and she had me get an ultrasound on my ovaries and didn't come up with anything.  Two months later I still have swelling and some pain in that same area around my belly button.  It was on and off but now is not going away.  I probably should go back to the doctor again but I feel like it's useless.  I paid so much for all the tests and doctor visits already and nothing was found so I'm assuming its nothing serious.  Sorry....this is probably more of a rant than anything.  I'm just aggravated and not sure what to do from here and debating whether its worth going through another round of tests. I had a checkup at my urologist office yesterday and my urine at least was ok so no infections there.  Any thoughts from anyone who has been through this would be great.

I know how hard text tattoos can be, especially when requesting a particular font. Does anybody have shop recommendations for Orange County, Ca?

For a few weeks I've been peeing a lot more than normal and a few days ago I noticed my urine smells weird, kind of onion-y. And no, I haven't been eating onions, heh. I'm not sure what this is, but does it sound like something that needs to be checked out ASAP? I have a doctor's appointment on July 27th.

Thanks!

Hello friends! I'm a newbie here. A friend of mine told me about Bookworms with Ink after she saw my latest tattoo. I'm a huge Great Gatsby fan and decided to permanently declare my love for the book. I re-read the book over and over again, writing down quotes that stood out in my head. Of course, the last line of the book ("So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past") is immortal, so I orignally was going to go with that.

Instead, I decided to just bite the bullet and get the entire last paragraph. At first, I wanted the piece to look exactly like it had been photocopied from the original prints of the book to my back. However, the artist ( a really good friend of mine) couldn't physically do so...so I found a font that, to me, suited the effect of the words. Here are some pics:

I'm getting professional pics done soon,  so you all can see what it looks like now that it's healed. if you're in the Central Florida area, you should check out my artist: http://tattoomason.com/
He is amazing!

I already asked this in the vaginapagina community but I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask here too since I didn't get as much info as I'd hoped:

Does anyone know if there is any reputable evidence of the birth control pill (or any other HBC, I guess) permanently reducing one's sex drive?

**edit**...I should have said "permanently reduce one's sex drive, even AFTER getting off of the pill."

Thanks ladies!

Hello! This is my first post here, but it won't be the last! So, uh, hi! :)

I've been planning on getting a Neil Gaiman tattoo for several years, but hadn't found anything that really struck me in a way that I could get it done. And then The Graveyard Book came out.

What I'm going to get is from the lullaby that Bod's mother sings him:
Face your life
Its pain, its pleasure
Leave no path untaken

I have a nautical star on my left forearm and my tattooist and I have discussed getting it done around my arm to start and finish on either side of the star, but I don't know if I'm completely sold on that. [My other thought is to get it done around my upper arm where it'll end near the top point of the star, idk for sure. I think it'll be easier to figure out once I solve my other issue.]

The main issue I'm having is I can't find a font I'm completely happy with. I like the fonts that are sort of handwritten/scripty. I don't want anything too "girlie". I rather like Freebooter Script, but it's just a wee bit curly. Does anyone know any fonts that are similar to that, but a little less, ah, embellished [I guess that's the word]?

Here's my arm, for a bit of reference. I know it's dark, but I had to make do with my laptop!camera and it doesn't like anything less than a brilliantly-lit room.

Thank you! I really appreciate any help that can be given!
